Welcome to the Research Postgraduate Library Space webpage! This page will outline what types of study space, facilities and events will be happening in the space.
It is open 24/7, 350 days a year. There are 90 study spaces and it is swipe access entry only, so don't forget your library card!
You also have two super friendly librarians who you will see in the space. We will be there to collect feedback for you all, run some events in the space and enjoy the view of Founders Building in the nice, quiet space!
Click on the tabs below to find out even more about the PGR space!
Take a couple of hours out of your hectic schedule to sit down and write that chapter of your thesis, that book review or plan that journal article. Using the Pomodoro technique, Write Here, Write Now will give you the time, space and opportunity to tackle ‘that thing’ you’ve been meaning to do amongst peers trying to do the same thing. If you have any enquiries, please email: firstname.lastname@example.org or one of the friendly PGR librarians to the left hand side!
As usual, our coffee mornings are back at 11am from every other Tuesday outside the PGR space on the second floor.
There are a variety of different areas in the space for you to use. These include desks where you can use your own laptop, desks with PCs, and soft seating for relaxing or taking a study break.
^ View of some of soft seating in the Research Postgraduate Room in the Library in the Emily Wilding Davison Building.
^ Desks with a view to Founders Building, each with two power sockets and two USB power points.
You will also find printing and binding facilities of your very own in this space!
There are 28 lockers in the space for you to use, located in the PGR space near the printers. Please note, these lockers are for the use of all PGRs, so please be kind to your peers and empty the locker when you no longer need it.
To ensure fair access to lockers for everyone, the Library has the right to carry out a regularreview of the lockers, including removing property if it has been unattended for a long time
We would love to have your feedback, so that we know what works and what could be improved. You can leave us feedback by using by using this form, or when you see us in the space. We are working on getting a feedback box in the space so you leave us feedback anonymously.
