How can I access my references after I've finished my course or College employment?

When you finish your course, access to all electronic library resources, including RefWorks, will end due to licence agreements with suppliers. If you wish to keep your references choose from one of the options below. Make sure you do this before the end of your course.

  • You can create an alumni RefWorks account for free. To do this you will need a college-specific reference number, for this and instructions contact the library.
  • Export your references from Refworks as either a BibTex or RIS file and import them into a free reference management service on the Internet which may have more limited functionality. See the box to the left for options.
  • EndNote users, you can export your references in RIS or txt format along with a copy of your EndNote Library file to use at your next employment.
  • Purchase a personal copy of EndNote while still a student, at the heavily discounted student rate. For details and to purchase visit the Adept Science homepage.
