Using the Physical Library

The library is located in the Emily Wilding Davison Building. The ground floor is shared with a variety of other services such as careers, student services and volunteering. Below is a short video tour of the library to help you familiarise yourself with the space.

The reading room in the Founder's Building is also available as a study space for silent study and is open 24/7. Below is a video on how you can find this space.

Study spaces

The library has a variety of study spaces to suit all study needs:

  • Ground Floor - Group study.
  • 1st Floor - Group study, whisper zone and silent study. You will also find the assistive technology suite on this floor.
  • 2nd Floor - Silent Study
  • Mezzanine - Silent Study
  • Group study rooms - 13 room available and can be booked up to 2 weeks in advance for 2 hour slots.

Services available in the library

There are many different services that we offer in the library, click on the links below to find out more.

Printers/photocopies/scanners - available throughout the library with black and white and colour options. 

Lockers - Limited number of lockers available on a first-come, first-served basis. Available for 24hours or termly.

Laptops - Available via laptop lockers on the ground and 1st floor. Available for 24 hours and for campus use only.

Finding a book in the library

To borrow a book or other physical item from the library you just need your student card, you will automatically have a library account created. Your student card will allow you to borrow items using our self service machines. These self service machines are available on all floors across the library. You can return a book via one of the 3 return slots, you can find these on the ground floor of the library and in the atrium.
