Student focus groups 2022: Home

This guide contains information relating to the student focus groups being held in May 2022. The purpose of the focus groups is to learn why the Library does not score well in student satisfaction surveys, particularly the NSS.

What are the focus groups for? And what work does is involve?

We want to know what YOU think of Royal Holloway Library, our services, and our resources. We often do not score as well as we would like in student satisfaction surveys, like the National Student Survey (NSS), and we want to know why, so we can identify areas for improvement.

Please join us for a 1.5-hour online focus group where we explore your experiences and thoughts about the Library, the services and resources available to you during your studies. There will be a short preliminary survey prior to the focus group.  All data from the survey will be handled in accordance with the College's GDPR guidelines. The focus group will be led by Library staff using MS Teams. The questions will be open-ended and we seek honest feedback.

As thanks for your active participation in one of the focus groups, we are offering a £20 Amazon voucher per participant, which will be emailed to you following attendance at the focus group. To earn the £20 Amazon voucher, it is necessary to complete both the preliminary survey and attend one of the 1.5 hour online focus groups held via MS Teams.

Please be advised that these focus groups are for Royal Holloway students only and that we ask for those students interested in registering to use their Royal Holloway username and password when registering. Thank you!

If you have any issues registering or any questions about the focus groups, please contact: Leanne.Workman@rhul.ac.uk, the Head of Academic Liaison who is coordinating these focus groups.
